WOODWARD (HANDICAP) CUP 2008

Entry forms now with Club Secretaries.

To be played during week commencing 18th February at either Hollington or Saints .

Three qualifying sessions will be held during the week as follows : -

Monday 18th February at Hollington.

Wednesday 20th February at Saints.

Thursday 21st February at Hollington.

Entrants have to give two choices of preferred evenings.

All competitors MUST be registered with the Hastings & District T.T.A.

The venue for all mid-week sessions will be open from  7.15 p.m.;  the finals Session on  SATURDAY 23rd February will start at 7.30 p.m. at Hollington TTC.

Entry fee: £1.00 per player.

HANDICAPS:

Each competitor will be given a handicap number between 1 and 70.

In each game the player with the lower handicap will start at 'love', and the opponent's start shall be determined from the official Handicap Conversion Chart.

All games 21 points up.    All matches best of three games.

GUIDE HANDICAPS:

Club Secretaries are asked to give guide handicaps for all entrants from their club who have played in LESS THAN FOUR SENIOR LEAGUE MATCHES THIS SEASON.    This will help the handicappers in their task of trying to ensure that all competitors receive a fair handicap.    In the column on the entry form headed 'Guide Handicap' enter 0 by the name of your best player, and by the names of the others to which this applies give the number of points' start you consider your best player could give them in a game of 21 points.

Handicaps for players who have played in four or more senior league matches will be determined from their league record.

Format

Two venues will be used: Hollington and Saints.

Three sessions will be held during the week as above.

Each entrant is asked to give two choices of preferred evening.

Every entrant will play a minimum of two games and a maximum of three games. the aim is to have groups of three with two groups per table per evening.

The winner of each group will play the winner of another group with the winner through to the finals evening on the Saturday.
